All in Attributes of God

The Immutability of God (Part 1)

Here is one of the ways that God is set apart in solitary grandeur from all that His hands have made. People are, of course, subject to change: changes in the mind, the emotions and the will. We grow older; we decline. As does the whole universe. It ages, it perishes. But in strong contrast to all of that is the unchanging God, the Same, who is thereby worthy of our trust.

The Holiness Of God - Part 2

God’s holiness impacts upon us as His people in a profound way.

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy’, 1 Peter 1:15-16. Peter is quoting Leviticus chapter 19. In previous chapters the life of the redeemed people is regulated in relation to the fact that God is holy. They begin in chapter 10 with the account of Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, offering strange fire before the Lord.

The Attributes of God: His Omniscience [Part 2]

Ian Jackson continues his thoughts on the omniscience of God by drawing attention to the fact that it is both a comfort and a challenge. It is wonderful to know that He knows everything about us, right down to the 'way that we take', but chastening to learn that he knows every thought that passes through our mind. A thought provoking read!

The Attributes Of God: His Eternity [Part 1]

Sometimes we might feel that because God is so great and we are so small, we cannot know Him. In this post, Ian Jackson affirms God's greatness by outlining His Eternity, but shows us that He is also knowable, because the Scriptures tell us so. He encourages us to trust in Him. This is the first in a series of monthly posts focusing on the attributes of God.
